CANDIDATE FOR WAIKATO MR. P. KEEGAN’S CAREER Among the many aspirants to Parliamentary representation in the Wii* kato electorate —at present held by the Government member, Mr. D. S. Reid—is Mr. Patrick Keegan, who will go to the poll as the Country Party 2 official nominee. Mr. Keegan, who is a New Zealander, of Irish parentage, has beta farming in the Bay of Plenty district for about 30 years, and has served lor years on the Whakatane Council, Whakatane Borough Council, an-f the Whakatane Harbour Board, of which he was deputy-chairman. He was the first president of tbfl Whakatane Agricultural Association, president of the Taneatua Railway League, and president of the Whakntane Chamber of Commerce. M r * Keegan was also president of tM Taneatua Farmers’ Union for man? years, and past president of the Auc** land executive of the New Zealw« Farmers* Union. .
