Bowling Pavilion Raided. —During the week-end the Remuera Bowling Club’s pavilion was broken into and tablecloths and a few shilling s;to!en. A back window was broken. Deserter Fined. —Frederick Charles Griffiths, aged 23, who pleaded guiity at the Police Court to-day to a charge of deserting from the S.S. Herminius, was fined £. 210 s. Toy Dog Parade. —The annual parade of the Auckland Toy Dog Club on Saturday was so successful that the club intends to hold a large show in J uly. Lecture on Stock Exchange. —“ The Work of a Stock Exchange” is the subject of a lecture to be given to-morrow evening by Mr. G. A. Buttle. The lecture will be given in the accountancy room of the University College, Princes Street, at 8 p.m. Kopu Bridge Opening. —The Pailway Department has arranged to stop the Thames-Auckland express at Kopu on Friday, for passengers attending the opening of the new bridge, and to delay the morning Frankton- Thames train from Faeroa. Particulars are advertised.
