Mr. and Mrs. Beaumont Smith returned to Auckland this morning after a visit to Sydney.

Messrs. D. Edmond and E. I). Johnson arrived from the South this morning by the Limited.

Mr. Wilfred Manning, of Auckland, ■who has been visiting Australia, returned by the Niagara this morning.

Mr. Sydney Cook arrived from Australia by the Niagara this morning and will leave for Wellington this evening.

Mr. E. Wenzel, of Melbourne, who Is associated with the newspapers there, arrived by the Niagara this morning.

Major and Mrs. A. Ritchie were among the passengers who arrived from Sydney this morning by the Niagara.

Miss Maude Koyden, the well-known London evangelist, arrived at Wellington by the Makura to-day, and proceeds South to-night, to open her New Zeajand lecturing campaign in Christchurch.

Mr. C. E. Brown, Australian manager for the Matson Shipping Line, arrived by the Niagara this morning on a tour of New Zealand.

Mr. Andrew Wilson, general manager of tho Sydney Gas Company, and Mrs. Wilson are through passengers on the Niagara.

Major C. A. .Toske, of Suva, who has been visiting Sydney, is a passenger for Fiji by the Niagara, which arrive*! in Auckland this morning.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Howey Walker, who have been spending a holiday in Australia, returned to Auckland this morning by the Niagara.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Goldie, Herne Bay, who have been on an extended visit to Melbourne and Sydney, returned to Auckland to-day by the Niagara.

Miss Betty Ross Clark, who toured New Zealand in “The Ghost Train,” is a through passenger on the Niagara, which arrived from Sydney this morning.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Willis, of Sydney, are passengers for Vancouver on the Niagara. They propose spending a holiday in the United States, after visiting New York.

Mr. William T. Campbell, chief operator at the Auckland Telegraph Office, has been transferred on promotion to the Thames Telegraph Branch as supervisor.

Mr. R. H. Packwood, resident engineer for the Public Works Department, in charge of the Westfield deviation, has left for Oamaru to take charge of the Waitaki hydro-electric scheme.

Sir John Bell, of Calcutta, and Lady Bell, have returned to Auckland after a two weeks’ tour of the North Island, and are at the Grand Hotel. They leave to-morrow by the Niagara for Vancouver on their way to England.

Mr. W. S. Robinson, of the Broken Hill Proprietary Company, the largest steel concern in the Commonwealth, arrived in Auckland by the liner Niagara to-day, accompanied by Mrs. Robinson.
