(From Our Own Correspondent) Mrs. J. O’Sullivan, who has been at j Rotorua since the golf tournament, has returned to her home in Te Awamutu. Miss Lorna Xicholls leaves to-day for a holiday in Wellington. Mrs. Crawshaw, of Waimate. is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Sinclair Arthur. Mrs. Harrison, of Dunedin, who has been visiting Mrs. R. English, left for home last night. Mrs. Oswald Smith is holidaying in the North. Miss A. Finlayson, of New Plymouth, is the guest of her sister, Miss J. Finlayson, at Claudelands. Miss Osmers left last night for Christchurch. Mrs. M. K. Chandler, of Rotorua, has been a visitor to Hamilton. Mrs. F. Spencer is another Rotorua visitor to Hamilton this week. Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Lister, of Fiji, have been in Hamilton this week. Mr. and Mrs. Whitcombe are Auckland visitors at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Monteith, of Auckland, were at tlid Hamilton Hotel this week. Mr. and Mrs. A. Hollingwortli are Ceylon visitors to Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. Willis, of Auckland, are at the Hamilton Hotel. Mrs. F. Luxford is visiting friends in Feilding. Mrs. D. Murray, of Cambridge, has left for a long visit to Queensland. Mrs. F. Bullock is spending a fortnight at Castor Bay. Miss Kate Hogg left last night for Dunedin. Miss Enid Bowie left yesterday for a holiday in Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Docherty and Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Morgan, of Auckland, were the guests of Mrs. T. N. Pemberton, of Hamilton, for the Cambridge races.
FAREWELL DANCE On Wednesday evening Mrs. F. D. Pinfold’s home in Victoria Street was the scene of a bright party for Mr. and Mrs. R. Seddon, who are leaving Hamilton shortly for Otago. The house had been decorated with autumn flowers and foliage, and the evening was spent in dancing and bridge. The music was supplied bv Mr. Hildreth. Mrs. Pinfold was wearing a becoming frock of rose pink georgette, and Mrs. Seddon was in cyclamen georgette. Among the. guests were Mesdames R. Seddon. senr., of Rotorua, T. A. Lucas, Miller (Gisborne), Seddon (Gisborne), Coventry, Messrs. E. Norris, I Collier, King, M. Clayton-Greene. A. Gilfillan, J. Gaze, G. Hammond, A. Forgusson. CROQUET CARD PARTY On Tuesday afternoon the members of the Whitiora Croquet Club held the iirst of the “500” afternoons they have planned for the winter. In spite of the blustery weather there was a good attendance. Among those present were Mesdames W. Burrow, D. Andrews, H. Cracknell: Irvine, Fenwick, Evans, Somervell. Billing, Walson, Runciman, G. Buckland, ITodgkinson, Drube, J. B. Scott, Grierson, Edwards. Webster, Robinson, Henderson and Miss Jones. G.D.A. BRANCH NEWS Recently a branch of the Girls’ Diocesan Association has been formed in Hamilton, and on Thursday evening a meeting was held at Miss Jolly’s home * n . Frankton Hill to draw up the constitution and to arrange “study” circles. Aliss AI. Young was elected president, Aliss A. Gilfillan vice-presi-dent, Miss M. Jackson secretary, and Miss I. Guy treasurer. Misses F. JoHv and B. Manning were elected a committee. There were also present: Misses G. Hammond, L. Hume, E. Hammond, M. Clayton-Greene. F. Clayton-Greene. D. Wilson. L. Nicholls. R- Wilson, A. Wilson and K. Oliver.
