NEW HAURAKI SEAT

PROSPECTIVE REFORMERS MR. E. ALLAN TO STAND It is likely that Mr. E. Allan, of Buckland, will offer himself to the people of the new Hauraki electorate in the official Reform interests. If he is not chosen as the Government nominee, he will contest the seat as an Independent Reformer. A suggestion has been made that Mr. W. W Massey, son of the late Prime Minister, will be nominated for the same seat. Mr. Allan, who is a nurseryman, seedsman and grower, at Buckland, has been in the province ever since he came to New Zealand from Scotland 35 years ago. He has been engaged in agriculture and horticulture for the greater part of his life, and in the early days of local body administration, he was instrumental in securing the formation of the Franklin County Cquncil. He is president of the Franklin A. and P. Society and is also the Governmer' representative of the Assessment Court.
