The performance of Imarosebud was a good one. Sea Nymph Too Good The Matai Trot was won by the Richmond trained Sea Nymph. Native Hero was favourite. Reta Nelson, Smith field. Sea Nymph, Country Life and Lord Denver led through the straight and along the back. Sea Nymph ran up behind Reta Nelson and they were together soon after entering the straight. He mowed down the field, but Star Cluster beat him home by half a length, with Reta Nelson another halflength away third, and Crusader fourth. Mark Mint Does Better After being beaten earlier in the day, backers stuck loyally to Mark Mint in the Stoke Hack, and after a great struggle over the last bit with The Dove the favourite pulled through by a neck.
