REPRESENTED The Australian cycling team to compete in the Tour de France, which includes New Zealander Harry Watson, arrived in Paris and received a very enthuiastic welcome from fans of the cycling world. It is now certain that the team will compete in the ParisBrussells race. WHEN the cyclists, Hubert Opperman, Harry Watson, Ern Bainbridge and Percy Osborn, arrived in France they were received with open arms. On arrival at Toulon last week they were welcomed by Dunlop Rubber Company’s South of France manager, and other leading sportsmen. No time was lost in despatching them to Paris, where they received a wonderful welcome by the cycling and other sporting celebrities.
The sporting and the daily press devoted considerable space to the Australians, who created a profound impression. After 14 years another Australian contingent of cyclists was invading the Continent to see Tour de Prance
