DANGEROUS TURNING
OTAHUHU RESERVE The completion of the monument re serve at the junction of Great South Road and Mangere Road. Otahuhu, has created a dangerous turning for motorists. Representations have been made to the authorities of the inability of motorists to take the corner. which is at an angle of 35 degrees, without proceeding on to the wrong side of the road. That the corner is a source of danger was proved recently when two collisions occurred there. A test was made by a borough employee to negotiate the corner, and still keep on his right side of the road. In three attempts the car stalled each time, well on the right-hand side of the road. Some of the large cars and trucks are unable to take the corn r on a full lock, thus necessitating reversing, which increases the danger. The council will have to consider the question at once, as every motorist who turns from the southe'rn part of Great South Road into Mangere Road breaks the by-laws.
