Girl Badly Hurt in Midnight Smash

hit telegraph pole TWO OTHERS INJURED Press Association. STRATFORD, To-day. A car driven by Mr. W. Hunwick, of Waipuku, collided with a telegraph pole on Cheat Road about midnight last night. Miss Mavis Ashton suffered a broken thigh and a compound fracture of the skull, with severe cerebral laceration, and was in a critical condition when admitted to hospital. Mr. Hunwick broke a bone in his right hand and Miss Cora Smith received minor injuries.
