LABOURER AWARDED FULL COMPENSATION
At the Arbitration Court yesterday, John Francis McGrath was awarded compensation for incapacity resulting from an accident which occurred when he was employed by the Auckland City Council.
The full rate was awarded from the date of the last payment to the hearing of the action, and for three months after. In respect of permanent disability the rate was fixed at 10s a week for the remainder of the period, of liability.
Plaintiff was awarded £lO 10s clpsts and medical and witnesses’ expenses.
Mr. Justice Frazer said that the recognised ability of the medical witnesses made it unnecessary to have recourse to the services of a medical referee.
Although plaintiff’s condition was due, in a certain degree, to neurasthenia, he would certainly be unfit to engage in heavy labour for a considerable time.
