COLLABORATING
A Walpole-Priestley Novel An interesting item appears in a recent issue of “T.P.’s Weekly”: “Collaboration between well-known authors has never attained such popularity in England as it has on the Continent. During the past few months, however, two well-known English authors have been collaborating in a novel which is likely to create something of a stir when it is published next autumn. This is ‘Farthing Hall,’ by Mr Hugh Walpole and Mr J. B. Priestley. Whjl§ Mr Walpole lives in
the Lake District, Mr Priestley lives in Oxfordshire. The story is to take the form of letters, and has formed the basis of correspondence between the authors which has been going on for the past six months.” Mr Priestley, who perhaps is better known as an essayist and critic than as a novelist, also is engaged on a long novel of his own.
