MR. ROBERT PEEBLES Press Association. THAMES, To-day. Th'9 death occurred to-day of Mr. Robert Peebles, chief postmaster of Thames, at the age of 54 years. He joined the service in 1888 at Dunedin. Me was postmaster t Naseby, Wyndham, and Fair lie, and in 1920 was attached to the chief inspector’s staff as inspector of the northern district. In 1924 he was promoted postmaster at Stratford, and in 1925 made chief postmaster at Thaipes. He would have retired on superannuation at the end of this year. He had been ailing for several months. He leaves a widow and two daughters, one of whom is studying at Otago University.
