N.S.W. TEAM’S TOUR OFFICERS ELECTED Press Association. WELLINGTON, Friday. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union yesterday, the following tentative itinerary was drawn up for the New South Wales team in New Zealand this season: Leave Sydney, August 17; arrive in New Zealand, August 21; Auckland, August 25; Wanganui, August 29; Hawke’s Bay, September 1; Wellington, first test, September 5; Otago, September 8; Southland, September 12; Christchurch, September 15 (second test); Marlborough, September 19; leave for Sydney, September 21. The North Island v. South Island match will be played at Christchurch on August 18. Mr. G. Maddison, Hawke’s Bay, was unanimously elected president of the New Zealand Rugby Union. He is a retired sheepfarmer, and is at present Mayor of Hastings. The election of officers resulted: Patron, the Governor-General; president, Mr. G. Maddison, Hawke’s Bay; hon. treasurer, Mr. E. Wylie; Management Committee, Messrs. S. S. Dean, A. C. Kitto, E. McKenzie, U. S. Leith, T. A. Fletcher, W. F. Hornig, J. Roache; Appeal Council, Messrs. J. Arneil, P. Mackie and J. Conlan, Auckland; auditor, Mr. O. G. Kember. The first meeting of the newlyelected committee was held this morning. Mr. S. S. Dean was reelected chairman and Mr. J. Roach, the new member, was welcomed. A motion that the Management Committee b© asked to reconsider its ruling forbidding inter-provincial teams indulging in more than two days’ combined training prior to a representative match was lost by 40 votes to 32.
