Zbyszko Tossed

He-Man Gama Threw Him Within a Minute HOW IT’S DONE In British Bast India they may not have heard of the “long count,” but they find some way to insure their favourite winning in a sporting contest. Not long ago Stanislaus Zbyszko, the “Grand Old Man of the Mat,” known to Aucklanders after his bouts in the City against Ike Robin, was imported to the Far Bast to wrestle the great Gama, under the auspices of the Government The wrestling world was astounded to read that Zbyszko had been tossed in one minute—a record as records go. In a letter to his close friend, Jack Curley, Stanislaus recently wrote, explaining the circumstances surrounding the outcome of the match: “Gama would under no conditions wrestle on the mat like we did in London. He insisted wrestling in Indian' fashion, in soft mud. He was supported in his demands by the Minister of the Interior, the Maharajah and every one concerned. You know that after making such a long trip I did not care to lose my guarantee. As a guest and living in the house of the Maharajah, I was obliged to

accept their conditions. No sooner did we come together than I found myself sinking in the soft mud so that Gama had hardly touched me and I was a goner. That was pulling a fast one, what say you?”
