RUGBY FOOTBALL WILL BE BROADCAST
AUCKLAND UNION MEETS The Management Committee of the Auckland Kugby Union at its meeting last evening confirnied arrangements allowing broadcasting of matches at Eden Park, subject to the committee having the right to cancel the arrangement at any time during the season. A motion that admission to the Showgrounds be Is for men and 6d for women, with no extra charge for admission to the grandstand, was carried. A letter from the Waikato Union, asking for a match on the King’s Birthday on June 3, was referred to the match committee. The Manukau Rovers Club wrote asking that its matches in town be not played at 1.45 p.m. as matches at that hour made it difficult for some of the players to be present. It was decided to grant the request whenever possible. It was resolved to forward the following applications for reinstatement on to the New Zealand Union with favourable recommendations: —J. McPhail, J. Ross, H. C. Brown, F. J. Malloy, J. W. Shirley, and W. McGonagle. A number of transfers and regradings were granted. SATURDAY’S FIXTURES Senior A Grade. —Manukau v. Ponsonby, Eden.
