THE ABBEY MYSTERY
CLAIM OF OWNERSHIP SUPREME COURT ACTION The mystery concerning the disappearance of the trotter The Abbey from the premises of Mr. A. E. Adams New Plymouth, and its subsequent reappearance on the property of Mr. A. Cameron at Mangsre, was advanced a further stage in the Supreme Court today, when the question of ownership was discussed in an action by Mr. Adam claiming possession. The gelding was purchased for £ 8 by Mr. F. Whitehead, of Pukekohe. who gave it to Mr. Adams to train. The latter then claimed that the hor* l ' s his, and raced it, winning three stakes. One night recently the horse was taken by motor-lorry from Mr. Adaras’a place at New Plymouth to Mangere, and it was there that Mr. Adams found it. The question of ownership of the horse came before Mr. Justice Blair in chambers this morning, but it will not be disposed of until late Lhis afternoon.
