Cabinet Factory Destroyed By Fire

BUILDING IN RUINS ALL MACHINERY LOST . A double-storeyed cabinet-mak-ing factory in Manukati Road, Avondale South, was gutted by fire shortly after 9.40 last night. The fire had a good hold when the Avondale brigade was called out.. The Point Chevalier brigade was summoned, but the combined efforts of the firemen were not sufficient to extinguish the blaze. In less than two hours the factory was in ruins. The building itself was a light wooden construction, and its contents were dry a nd inflamable. All the machinery was completely destroyed. The factory was owned and operated Mr. C. D. Jones, of Manawa Street, «emuera, and was insured.
