BACK TO PRISON

THIEF'S BRIEF LIBERTY WIFE ATTEMPTS SUICIDE Walter Henry Marslen has been out of prison a month after serving a two-years' sentence. He is back in prison now. Marslen pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to charges of being idle and disorderly, obtaining 30s by false pretences, and stealing 33s from two gas meters. Chief-Detective Hammond said that accused, who had a long list, had married since discharged from prison. Yesterday his wife was before the court charged with attempting to commit suicide.

Accused was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment on each of two charges, terms to be cumulative.
