NEW REGENT
TWO FEATURES TO-MORROW
The* British naval film, ‘’Second to i None,” will have its final screening at j the New Regent Theatre to-night. An excellent double-feature bill will ; be presented to-morrow. | The chief feature will be ‘ Two FlamJ i.ng Youths,” starring Chester Conklin and W. C. Fields. j In this comedy, an amusing series of ! romantic and business complications, mi in which the owner
of a circus sideshow and a smalltown sheriff battle for the love of a wealthy widow, Fields and Conklin have roles well suited to their respective abilities at creating fun. Fields is the proprietor of the defunct circus, who is stranded
with his menage of human oddities in
ii uuia.ii uuuiut's in a certain village. Conklin plays the sheriff with the big bluster and little intellect. An excellent supporting east has been assembled to aid Fields and Conklin with their laugh-getting. Mary Brian is the daughter of the circus head and Jack Luden plays the son of the town miser, who falls in love with her. The second feature will be “Jesse James,” starring Fred Thomson. It is the authentic record of one of the most amazing characters in American history. It has dash, marvellous horsemanship, and some hair-raising stunts, but it also has a dramatic story as beautifully told as "The Vanishing American.” Commencing to-morrow at the matinees only will be a grand children’s pantomime, “The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe,” by the pupils of -Miss O’Leary. There will be the Old Woman, the Shoe, the Cat and ever so many children to delight the hearts of young and old. Mr. Maurice Guttridge and the Regent Operatic Orchestra will play as an entr’acte “Morning. Noon and Night” (Suppe), and Leslie V. Jlarvey will render new numbers on the Wurlitzer.
