The Communist, Pratt, interviewed by representative Englishmen, declared himself strongly in favour of a general strike if possible, but such a strike would need much propaganda. Help from Moscow was probable. Mitra, the secretary of the Railway Union, threaten ■‘d that unless the strike was settle*! within the next few clays, there would be a general strike at Calcutta and Howrah.
