Lindbergh Will Take Far Northern Route
WORLD FLIGHT PLAN NOT A LONE JOURNEY (United P.A. —By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian Press Association) Reed. 9.5 a.m. DETROIT, Tuesday. The Washington correspondent of the “Detroit News” declared that Colonel Lindbergh’s world flight plan
has been positively confirmed. The correspondent asserted that the ocean crossing will not be a non-stop one, but that Colonel Lindbergh, who will be accompanied by Major Thomas Lanphier, of the United States Air Service, will fly a tri-motored
Fokker along the far northern route, making service stops at Labrador, Greenland and Iceland. He will visit every important capital in Europe, after which he will proceed to Japan, but it is not expected that he will fly home across the Pacific. A cablegram of March 30 read as follows: Colonel Lindbergh has advised his Army friends that lie intends to fly the Atlantic again this summer. He plans to visit most of the European countries, after which he hopes to continue across Russia to China and Japan, returning over the Pacific.
