BASS STRAIT STORM. —Terrific storms are l'aging in Bass Strait, and shipping is much delayed. SYDNEY EXHIBITION. —Th e Federal Government announces that an •Empire Exhibition will be held in Sydney in 1932, which is a year later than was originally intended. RIOTS IN BERLIN.—The Berlin Police arrested 139 Communists who took part in a riot in a Berlin suburb which developed into a battle against students, in which stones were used as missiles.— Australian Press Association. FLOODS RECEDING.—The flood Waters in Queensland are receding in au the stricken districts and the train servicer, have been resumed. The latest reports indicate that the cotcro P will not b© destroyed, as was at first anticipated. SEA-COOKS* DISPUTE. The Australian Council of Trades Unions lnterve ned in the dispute between the Marine Cooks’ Union and the upowners. A conference of the J“jusrgeiicy Committee of the council Will be held to-day. MOTHS BOUGHT.—Orders for 34 Moth airplanes have been given by the Australian Air Force, of which u will be built by the de Havilland company. Ltd., in Britain. The remainder will be built in the Commonwealth, with the exception of the ns^ nes - The approximate cost of each imported Moth is £750. .-EMPIRE POLITICIANS. The South African Parliamentary delegates to the next meeting of the Empire Parliamentary Association in Canada will leave Capetown at the jmd of July. They will include Mr. n leltnan Roos, Minister of Justice, the Mr. Krige Nicholls, and ~lr. 'Wesselee Payn. They will visit Australia and New Zealand on their tt'&y home.—United Service.
