OLD TALE RESURRECTED
SHOOTING OF NUNS COMMENT ON SPANISH HOAX Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Tuesday. In connection with the cabled account of the shooting of four nuns in a Spanish convent, the Rev. D. P. Buckley, of Riverton, writes to the “Southland Times” as follows: “While I was in Europe toward the end of last year, I read in some English papers of an alleged Spanish convent scandal identical with the one published this morning. English Catholic authorities immediately made inquiries, and discovered the whole business to be a hoax, without any foundation in fact. “Apparently an old tale has been resurrected toeasy consumption here.”
