DEPARTMENT’S ALLEGATION Resentment at the department’s allegation that unsatisfactory probationers and training college students had been allowed to complete their course of training was again expressed by the Auckland Education Board to-day. The principal of the Training College and the senior inspector had both reported that they were aware of no case in which the board had taken no action when adverse reports had been sent in about a student. “Not guilty, your Worship!” said the chairman, Mr. A. Burns. “Shall we inform the department?” Mr. IT. S. W. King: We should ask the department to remove the statement about the board. We should enter a protest. We have been accused of something we have not done. The protest was entered.
