CHRISTCHURCH UNEMPLOYED especial to THE SUE) CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. After hearing a deputation from the unemployed of Christchurch today, the Mayor, Rev. J. K. Archer, telegraphed to the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, stating the extent of unemployment in the city, and asking if the Government could cope with it. According - to figures supplied by the Labour Department there are at present 400 men on the unemployed register, with a total of 650 people affected.
