The Sires’ Produce Stakes, which is decided on the second day of the Forbury meeting, is creating considerable interest among lovers of the straight-out trotter, but at present selectors cf the likely winner of this important event are not prepared to back their opinions for much, says an Otago authority. Although news from the north says that the winner of the event nestles in that quarter, Otago enthusiasts will stand firm to the prospects of the two fillies bred and owned in Dunedin—Patty Todd and Etta Bells—both of whom will make things interesting for the opposition.
