IMPETUOSITY OF YOUTH

One of the most successful apprentice riders in this province is P. Brady, who brought Miss New Zealand home a surprise winner at the Waikato meeting. However, more successes might have gone his way at this fixture had he not made so much use of his mounts, several of whom were asked to do too much. Among these were Ned Kelly (second day) and Rangi Kokiri (first day), both of whom were ridden into the soft ground. Others that might have fared better but for young Brady’s impetuosity, were Ladies’ Boy and Star Comet (second day). It was this youth at his best when he came from the back with Miss New Zealand on Monday.
