RUBBER PLANTERS APPEAL FOR HELP
POSITION IN PAPUA (United P.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright) Reed. 11.30 a.m. BRISBANE, To-day. A radio message from Port Moresby states that representatives of the rubber planters of Papua have sought a bounty from the Lieutenant-Gover-nor, declaring that, owing to the collapse in price, rubber plantations will be compelled to close down if financial aid is withheld, resulting in the cancellation of native labour contracts and me dismissal of European employees. The Governor has repeated the request to the Minister for Home Territories.
