CARGO FROM SOUTH AUSTRALIA.— The local office of the Union Company has been advised that a cargo steamer has been fixed to load at South Australian ports and Melbourne during the second week in May for New Plymouth. Auckland, and Portland. THE MAUI POM ARE.—Cabled news has been received that the new Government motor-ship Maui Pomade < b-ired Balboa on April 20. after being drived there for some days for repairs u/ her engines. She is bound for Wellington via Apia, and is due early in May. ROTORUA LEAVES CO LO N.—Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that their liner Rotorua arrived at Panama on Monday from Wellington, and left Colon on Tuesoay for Southampton and London. RUAHINE LEAVES HOME.—News by cable has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that their liner Ruahine, after loading at London, left Southampton on Thursday for Wellington. Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and Auckland. The vessel is due at "Wellington on June 1 and at Auckland on June 15 CASE OIL COMING.—a new Norvregian motor-ship, the Fernlane, has been chartered to make her maiden vovage to Australia or New Zealand, with case oil from the Gulf of Mexico. She is a vessel of 0,310 tons gross, and was launched at Copenhagen on September 17. 1927. Her owners are Fearnley and Eger, of Oslo. POOLTA SAILS TUESDAY.—The l nion Company advises that the Poolta, which has been undergoing her annual overhaul and survey at Auckland, leaves here tc-morrow at 1 p.m. for Grafton direct, where she loads, thence Newcastle, for Auckland, "Wellington, and Timaru.

KIA ORA DELAYED.—The Shaw. Savill and Albion Company advise that the Kia Ora has been delayed by rain ac Oamaru. She will now leave Oamai u on Monday for Timaru, Wanganui roadstead and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on May S, and will now sail finally from that port on May 10 for London, via Cape Horn. SCHOONER PIRI A R RIV ES.—From Melbourne, via Greymouth and Westport, the Nobel auxiliary schooner Piri arrived at Auckland on Saturday afternoon. She anchored off Maraetai to complete unloading explosives. Afterwards she will lighter explosives from the steamer Hurunui, which is due from London to-night. PORT CURTIS’S AGENCY.—Heather, Roberton, and Company have been advised that the C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Curtis, which sailed from New York on April 23 with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Napier. Wellington. Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff, will unload at Auckland to their agency. She is due here about May 25. MAIMOA AT WELLINGTON.—The Shaw, Savill and Albion Companv's steamer Maimoa arrived at Wellington on Saturday evening from Gladstone (Queensland). The vessel has cargo from Africa to unload at Wellington. She will leave there to-morrow, to load at Wanganui, Waikokopu, Gisborne, Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington. The Maimoa is due back at Wellington on May IS, and will leave there on May 21 for London, via the Cape Horn route. WEST ELCAJON RETURNS.—Now running under the Oriental-Oceanic-Na-vigation Company's flag, the American steamer West Eleajon arrived at Auckland at half-past nine this morning and anchored in the stream. The vessel, which has a cargo of lumber, case oil ancl general merchandise from Pacific Coast ports of America will not come alongside Princes Wharf to commence discharging operations till the weather moderates. The vessel has cargo also for Napier, "Wellington, Lyttelton and Timaru Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlane, Ltd are the local agents.

FOG DELAYS MATANGI.— The Northem Company’s .steamer ilatangi was delayed on her trip from Tauranga owing to the foggy weather, and she did not reach Auckland until yesterday afternoon seven Imurs behind schedule. She left the wharf at Tauranga at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday, her usual time, but encountered a dense fog, and had to anchor for about eight hours. The fog lifted at four o'clock yeserday morning, and the vessel resumed her tip. In the Bay of Plenty the fog continued, but was paoTiv and did not delay the vessel. Good speed was made to Auckland, and she arrived shortly before two o'clock.
