GAOLED FOR A YEAR
Saying that under the circumstances it was his duty to impose a substantial sentence, Mr. Justice MacGregor today sent John Joseph Crosby to gaol for 12 months for carnal knowledge. Mr. Holm den. for the prisoner, said the girl gave the appearance of being older than she was, and also that she was the consenting party. His Honour pointed out that since the assault the girl had contracted a disease, and that was the worst feature of the case.
