BULBS FROM HOLLAND
FLOWERS FOR ALBERT PARK DAHLIAS AND GLADIOLI Next year some beautiful bulbs imported from Holland will adorn the flower-beds of Albert Park. Last year two dozen choice dahlias were landed and planted in the small beds near the potting: shed. They are at present in full bloom. These new dahlias % are the new decorative variety. One, a particularly lovely bloom, has long:, curved petals, each petal divided into two distinct shades, one white and the other almost orange. There are also some charming examples of the curved single variety. Next year, when the tubers have increased, the new dahlias will be planted out into the borders. Other importations are a choice lot of gladioli. There are about 1,000 bulbs of s? small variety and 1,000 large. These will also be planted out to add their blaze of colour to the already attractive park gardens. Just at present the winter planting in Albert Park is in progress, and preparations are being made for the spring show. A bed of cinerarias has been planted, and several thousands of anemones and runugculi will be planted shorlty.
