AMERICAN JOURNAL AND MARKY FILM
NEW ZEALAND OVERLOOKED!
The “San Francisco Chronicle," in a recent issue, makes mention of Mr. Alexander Marky’s new film (now being photographed at White Island). Apparently, this journal has never heard of Hew Zealand. Though the picture is being made herd, the Dominion is not even mentioned. “Universal will make a South Sea Island picture, “Children of the Sun,” this season.
It will be directed by Alexander Marky, explorer, camera man and writer, who left Hollywood recently at the head of a picture-making expedition, the locale known only to himself. In his story he calls the island Tarangi.
He will attempt to show the origin and life of the fast disappearing Samoan tribes, a people famous throughout the world for symmetry of figure, beauty of feature and imperturbability of temperamsat.
Accompanying Marky are Dew Collins, Wilfred M. Cline, Harold I. Smith and Zoa, Varney.
He will make the film and return before summer.
