REREMOANA—JOY KING

TWELVE months ago Joy King easily defeated Reremoana in the Ormond Gold Cup at Hastings, the Hawera gelding being off colour round about that time. These two will probably be found in opposition once more over the mile in the same event to-morrow, with the addition of The Hawk and perhaps one or two others. There is just a chance that the veteran galloper will provide an upset, for did he not fully extend the speedy Cimabue over six furlongs at Awapuni last week ? Nevertheless the weight-for-age event appears to be a duel between Reremoana and Joy King, and perhaps the former will atone for his defeat last year and reverse positions with the Comedy King gelding. Others in the race that promise to make it lively if they run are Cimabue, Great Charter and Crown Area.
