TASMANIA’S DIFFICULTIES INTEREST fc1. 000,000 A YEAR (United P A. —by Telegraph — Copyrtgh: Reed. 9.45 a.m. HOBART, To-day. The Premier, Mj-. J. A. Lyons, delivering the Budget, said Tasmania had a national debt of £24.000.000, an Interest bill of £1,000.000 annually, and fewer than 45.000 potential ratepayers to foot the bill. He promised to reduoe the members of the Assembly to 25, and the Ley islatlve Council to 15. At present the Council has IS members and the Assembly 30 members.
