“FIGURES DON’T LIE” Esther Ralston in “Figures Don’t Lie” will be shown at the Britannia Theatre to-night. The story concerns ‘‘Howdy Jones (Ford Sterling), who is fond of telling his business associates that he owes his success to three things—punctuality. efficiency, and good memory. In reality, the punctuality, efficiency and good memory are all supplied by Janet Wells, Jones’s pretty blonde secretary, played by Esther Ralston. While trying to keep her absentminded employer straight 09. his private and business affairs, Miss Ralston incurs the bitty enmity of his jealous wife. Blanche Payson. She also succeeds in making her sweetheart. Richard Arlen, extremely jealous. It is an hilarious story of every-day life, this “Figures Don’t Lie.” All the comic incidents that can centre around a distractingly beautiful girl, a harmless but susceptible middle-aged man, a high tempered and jealous wife, and an equally jealous lover, are crowded into laugh-provoking sequence. A very interesting, instructional film, “How to Swim,” will also be shown.
