RUSTPROOF ROOFS
A ROOF that is rust-proof as well as fire-proof is a good investment, for no part of the house gets any harder usage than this roof covering, which must make a stand against the onslaughts of rain and snow, sleet and wind. Flashings, leaders, and downspouts of copper contribute to a house this element resisting quality, eliminating the dangerous encroachments of rust. Once rust starts bad leaks result and costly repair bills ensue. Shingle roofs can now be built with composition base and exposed surfaces encased in copper. Another insurance against high upkeep costs is in the installation of brass piping for hot and cold water lines in a house. A large proportion of plumbing bills are due to the rusting of water pipes. A pipe may be clogged with rust until the fiow is so interrupted that it is scarcely more than a trickle. In this way the water will become discoloured and eat into the pipes, making them leak.
