STABBING AFFRAY

MURDER CHARGE WITHDRAWN ACCUSED SENT FOR TRIAL Tress Association. DUNEDIN, Monday. A charge arising out of the stabbing affray at Milton on April 15 was preferred against William Hassett, labourer, aged 28, in the Milton Police Court to-day. The attempted murder charge was withdrawn, and accused was charged with wounding Charles Arthur Lloyd with intent to do grievous bodily harm. After the hearing of a considerable amount of evidence, accused was committed to the Supreme Court at Dunedin for trial.
