STRAND
LAST TWO DAYS OF “THE CIRCUS” After a successful run at the Strand Theatre, the extended season of “The Circus” is now drawing to a close, for the film will be screened for two more days only. In this latest success, Charlie Chaplin revels among peanuts, sawdust, clowns, tigers, elephants, acrobats and wire-walkers. An intimate one-ringed circus forms the background for this hilarious film. The girl of the film—and no film would be complete without one—is played by Merna Kennedy, eighteen years old, and already a leading lady. The supporting programme .includes a delightful prologue entitled, “The Tiny Tots’ Circus,” with a band of tiny talented performers, in a miniature show, and an inspiring British film, “Memories of the Old Country,” which cannot fail to make its appeal to all who love England. On Friday this mirth-maker will be replaced by “Resurrection,” the screen version of Tolstoy’s immortal story.
