NEW BRITISH FILM
PRIVATE VIEW AT REGENT
Although not produced as propaganda, the British made Paramount production “Second To None,” which was shown privately this morning at the New Regent, presents many scenes illustrative of the work of the senior service apart from an intriguing story Although the scenes taken on board the warships will prove wonderfully interesting, it is certain that the scenes taken in the Royal Naval Training Establishment at Shotley, by permission of the Admiralty, will be well received. To see hundreds of the youngsters who are training for the navy swarming up the rigging of a huge mast and manning the yards, is to feel that the traditions of the senior service is being ably carried on by t young Britain. In this scene the hero of the story balances precariously on one leg at the very top. "Second To None” is the story of a newspaper boy whose ambition' is to join the navy and rise to commissioned rank that he may win the hand of his former playmate. Moore Marriott, Benita Hume and lan Fleming have the leading roles, and the production was directed by Jack Raymond under the personal supervision of Miss Dinah Shurey. This latest British film will be shown at the New Regent on Friday.
