DAIRY PRODUCE EXPORTS EQUAL TO LAST SEASON (Special to THE SUN) WELLINGTON, Monday. It is now estimated that the exportable surplus of dairy produce for the whole of the current season will be about equal to that for last season. Exports of butter to all destinations from April 1 to August 31 last year amounted to 970,000 boxes. This will give a total or 520,000 boxes to be exported in the five months as follows: April. 210,000 boxes; May, 100,000; June, 80,000; July, 80,000; August 50,000. It is believed these figures are on the conservative side and, should the winter be a mild one with an early spring, it is quite possible they will be increased, for at present considerable stocks are held in cool stores for winter local ade and may, under the above conditions, prove to be In excess of requirements, in which case the excess will be released for export. The available surplus of cheese for the five months is estimated at 270,000 crates, as against actual exports in the corresponding period last year of 406,000 crates. This may be shipped as follows: April, 100,000 crates: May, 100,000; June, 50.000; July, 20,000.
