RECALCITRANT COOKS
SHIPS STILL HELD UP DETERMINED UNION (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Rec. 10.45 a.m. MELBOURNE, To-day. Mr. W. Appleton, chairman ofj Huddart-Parker’s, Limited, stated that the company had failed to obtain crew's for the Barwon and the Yarra. It • was anxious to recommission these vessels. In the cases of the Ulimaroa, Zealandia, and Corio, he was unable to say when the next call for crews would be made. Mr. Appleton believes that the steamer Goulburn will next be involved with the marine cooks, who are causing the hold-up, and are determined to refuse duty until their demand is conceded, despite Judge Detheridge’s threat to cancel their award.
