Father Biernoski, of South Australia, who has been visiting Kurope, was a through passenger by the Niagara, which arrived in Auckland to-day. Mr. H. Kendall and Mr. J. P. Lodge, wool merchants, of Boston, U.S.A., were through passengers by the Niagara, for Sydney, which arrived in Auckland at noon. Guests at to-day’s Rotary Club luncheon were Messrs. W. J. Foster (Melbourne), J. D. Smith (Hamilton), L M. Keesing (Palmerston North), H. C. Bartley (Sydney) and R. W. Hansard (Napier). Mr. G. W. Clinton, United States Onnaul at Cumberland, 8.C., is a through passenger by the Niagara, which arrived in Auckland to-day from Vancouver. Mr. Clinton is on a health trip and will return to Canada via Aickland Mr. H. W. Lever, former general manager ol the Bank of New South Wales in New Zealand, returned to Auckland to-day by the Niagara, accompanied by Mrs. Lever. They will leave for Wellington by to-night’s express. The Chief Inspector of Fisheries (Mr. A. E. Hefford) has returned to Wellington from Westland. lie will leave shortly for Wanganui, in connection with the work there upon Atlantic salmon, and will also inspect the site for a proposed hatchery to suit the three Taranaki acclimatisation societies, who are about to amalgamate.
