The Rugby season in the Wairarapa was officially opened at Carterton with a seven-a-side tournament. Following were the results of the finals: Seniors: Grey town A, 10, v. Old Boys A, 0. Juniors: Grey town A, 18, v. Old Boys, 0.
Hockey matches played at Dunedin on Saturday resulted: Technical Old Boys, 6, v. Varsity, 4; Albany, 6, v. Varsity B, 0.
Association football matches played at Christchurch resulted: Western, U v. Nomads, 0; Technical College, 7, V. Villa, 1; Thistle, 3, v. St. Albans. 2.
In a boxing contest at New Plymouth on Saturday, Artie Hay, of Hastings, New Zealand welter-weight champion, defeated Dick Loveridge, Taranaki, on points. Loveridge fought sluggishly, appearing to be stale, and Hay secured a substantial margin of points against him. The match attracted a good number of spectators.
