Canon W. G. Williams left for the Islands to-day by the Tofua. Mr. R. A. Singer left for Wellington last evening by the Limited. Mr. F. H. Sims has been re-elected chairman of the Taumarunui Hospital Board. Mr. J. M. Massey, of Pukekohe, .returned from a trip to Wellington this morning. Mr. Maurice Harris, who previously jived in Auckland, is at present spending a holiday here. Mr. G. Baildon, Mayor of Auckland, returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. Norman Heath, of Auckland, has been appointed Consul for the Republic of Latvia in New Zealand. The Attorney-General (the lion. F. j. Rolleston) has returned to Wellington from the South Island. Dr. J. Dawson, Dr. W. G. McNaugh/ton and Dr. B. Leeper were among the passengers who left to-day by the Tofua. Mr. F. W. Richards, Mr. A. O. Glasse and Mr. W. A. George were kmong the arrivals from Wellington this morning by train. Lieut.-Colonel S. S. Allen, the now Administrator of the Mandated territory of Western Samoa, left to-day by the Tofua. He was accompanied by Mrs. Allen. Mr. L. Mills, of the Hansford Mills Construction Company, and Mr. George Smith, of the same company, arrived in Auckland this morning, and are staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. W. A. G. Skinner, Government printer, and Mrs. Skinner, are on a visit to Auckland. They are staying with Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Skinner, Sarawia Street, Parnell. Admiral Sir James Fergusson, brother of the Governor-General, left by train for Wellington last evening. He leaves for England by the Remuera, on Saturday. Mr. A. H. Messenger, of the Publicity Department, will leave Wellington by the Maunganui for Sydney on May 23, to go into the question of publicity for the Dominion in Australia. The Minister of Education (the Hon. R. A. Wright) and the Minister of Lands (the Hon. A. D. McLeod) will leave Wellington on Monday morning on a brief visit to the Wairarapa electorate. Mr. and Mrs. C. .1. Moon and family, of Wanganui, have arrived in Auckland. Mr. Moon has been stationmaster at Wanganui for the past two years.
