BANKRUPT CHARGED

OBTAINING CREDIT (From Our Own Correspondent J HAMILTON, To-day. Charges of contracting debts totalling £165 Ss without disclosing tha: he was an undischarged bankrupt were preferred against Finlay John McLean (Mr. Tompkins) in the Hamilton Police Court yesterday. A boarding-house keeper said accused contracted a debt of £35 6s lOd with her for board. He did not tell witness that he was an undischarged bankrupt A representative of a Te Kuiti stock firm said accused had purchased goods valued at £6O 6s 2d from the firm last year. A labourer said accused owed him £6O for wages and £8 15s for board. The deputy-registrar of the Supreme & Court said accused was adjudicated a bankrupt in December, 1912, and that no order of discharge had been issued. The accused, who pleaded not guilty, was committed for trial at the Supreme Court, bail being allowed. !
