REGENT’S ORGANIST LIKES AUCKLAND
UNSOLICITED TESTIMONIAL Mr.-Leslie Harvey, the organist at the New Regent Theatre, evidently likes Auckland. Here is an entirely unsolicited testimonial, which appeared in the last issue of the (Sydney) “Film Weekly”: "My first impressions of Auckland were most pleasing, and so far I have been disillusioned in nothing. The streets are clean and wide, the harbour magnificent, and the people most courteous and charming. “I opened the day after my arrival, and can truthfully say that never in any place have I been accorded such a wonderful reception. The applause was tremendous—l took two bows, and then had to play an encore.” The “Film Weekly” adds: “New Zealanders will like Mr. Harvey all the better ior his eulogy of this capital city.” Presumably the Australian journal is unaware that the capital was ever moved from our city to Wellington.
