EMPIRE

“PUBLICITY MADNESS” ‘Publicity Madness/’ starring Lois Moran and Edmund Lowe, is the chief picture at present being shown at the Empire Theatre. The story concerns Elmer Hen:y. the old-fashioned head of the Henly Soap Company. Manufacturers of “Uncle Elmer’s Saturday Night Soap.” His daughter \ iolet has been raised according to his standards and is a “frump.” Henly contemplates consolidating his firm with that of the Banning Soan Company, and his fondest wish is that his daughter and Banning’s son Rodney shall marry, but i young Banning is ; not enthusiastic. Pete King. a high-powered salesman for the Banning Company, is ! always becoming inflated with big ideas, the latest of which is to adver- ! tise Banning Soap by offering a large cash reward to the flyer who will carry a case to Honolulu. In the Banning office everything is modern. Brutus Banning and his son Rodney are in a conference about the consolidation with the Henly Company. Rodney tells his father that he can’t possibly marry an antique like Violet. His father agrees, but asks that he wait until after the two companies are consolidated before breaking the engagement. The second feature on the programme is “The Black Diamond Express,” starring Monte Blue.
