BRITANNIA
“AFRAID TO LOVE” Florence Vidor is the star in “Afraid to Love,” the main picture to be shown at the Britannia Theatre tonight. The cast also includes Clive ~ Brook, Jocelyn Lee and Norma Trevor. Clive Brook, as leading man, portrays Sir Reginald Belsize, affluent Englishman, with an inheritance that proves a source of constant worry to him. The terms of his uncle’s will stipulate that he marry someone other than the girl he wants for his wife. This girl is Helen de Semiano (Jocelyn Lee), with whom he is so infatuated that he can’t see that she is carrying on an intrigue with a gigolo right under bis nose. A solution offers itself when Sir Reginald calls at the office of his legal advisor, John Travers (Norman Trevor), who suggests that he marry any girl at all, and divorce her as soon as he has collected the fortune. The second feature of the programme is “Adam and Evil” starring Lew Cody and Aileen Pringle in a hilarious comedy of a modern Eve.
