SOLDIERS IN MAKING
CAMPS CONCLUDE LAST OF SUMMER SERIES The summer series of military training camps will conclude this afternoon, when about 200 members of the Ist Battalion. -Auckland Regiment, who were unable to attend the annual camp at Xgaruawahia, will complete several days’ training. Lieut.-Colonel L. T. H. Dawson, officer commanding the battalion, who inspected the camp yesterday, remarked on the high standard of efficiency attained by the men, notwithstanding that they were drawn from several companies.
Work has been carried out on the competition principle, a pleasant rivalry imparting keenness to all sections. During yesterday morning drill and marching competitions weie conducted, and in the afternoon a sports tournament was held.
