MOTORING ACCIDENTS

TWO HURT YESTERDAY Severe head injuries were received last night by Mr. Philip Boyle, aged 38, who collided with a heavy lorry in Fanshawe Street last evening. He is in the Auckland Hospital, in a fairly serious condition. Mr. Boyle, who is a married man living in Stanmore Road, Grey Lynn, was forced , to swerve suddenly to avoid a boy on a trolley. The impact with the lorry shattered the windscreen, the broken glass cutting Mr. Boyle’s forehead in two places. Suffering from head injuries when his motor-car collided with a pole in Karangahape Road last evening, Mr. Brian Leem, aged 40, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital. He is a single man and lives at 23 Aratonga Avenue, Epsom. His injuries are not serious.
